Same thing her.I received a phone call from this number saying they were from UPS and calling re an outstanding bill. I have not dealt with UPS in about 4 years so obviously a scam.

Number given after my parents received several harrassing calls that stated I owed UPS money for a shipment that I did not make. When I called,the person said the billing was a mistake. When I asked for a confirmation e-mail, he promised to send one, but never did.

Follow-up to my 26 Feb posting. Turned out to be legit. Not sure why they sounded so hick-y and unprofessional, but I called UPS (from number I got from their website, not the # provided by caller), and gave invoice #. It was for import taxes/duty on a shipment I got from Spain a few months ago (normally pay these fees with delivery, so I doubted its authenticity). Maybe UPS is using some kind of collection service to make these calls for them (the UPS person had no info on this), which is why the original caller sounded so unprofessional. Anyway, my mistake!/I apologized to the UPS person.

I received a call from a caller nameed Bernice. She claimed that I had an open invoice from UPS for a shipment to from China. At first a recording came out which did not sound like UPS since the recording was in english and spanish. I pressed #1 to speak to a representative when a lady came on the phone by the name of Anaida. She told me that I owed and invoice. When i stated that i do not deal with import or export she automatically stated that an adjustment was made. Please be aware of such phone call. I dont think it was a legitimate call

Same thing-- left message on my cell, claimed I owed payment on UPS invoice. Maybe preying on Spanish speakers. When you call the number (like report above, sounds like some toothless redneck in her basement), the answering service tries to get a credit card # for payment, then says office is closed for the day. 2/25/09

Said they were from UPS saying I owed over $100 on a UPS shipment to Canada, and it was based on something Canada was 'taxing'. Answering 'service' sounded like it was out of someone's basement. They did the whole English/Spanish greeting too.
