called and said I need to be home to sign for legal papers on behalf of a family member, said my name and told me that I needed to be home so I could sign for the papers.....lol are these people crazy???? I said no!

company sent someone to my relatives house asking for me and saying that i was being summoned to court for old credit card debt .. they never tried to contact me, only went to my relatives house. when i called 866-767-8814 they were rude telling me that i was going to court and then hung up on me.

866-767-8814 call people that lived next door to me. told them how we where going to be put in jail. And got her all upset. And the whole time they was telling lies to her...the person they was looking for was not even us. One of the things they ask me was I in charge of the bills and money for the person they was looking for. When I called the 866-767-8814 back...they told me they could not tell me anything because I would not tell them my husbands SS# . And they was really calling about my son. The lady next door does not even know my grown son. Do not trust the number 866-767-8814 ...they would not tell me name of company

this company, whether a legit collections agency or not, is using unlawful practices to scare people into paying debts that have either already been paid off or are bogus debts. from all the research I've done on this phone number, NONE of the calls have been in regards to actual current debts. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO. yes, they will threaten you with sending someone with a court summons. they even claim to be with the sheriff's dept. THIS IS HIGHLY ILLEGAL-- they are NOT with the local sheriff's dept. they are somewhere in california, scamming people all over the US. first, if they threaten with a court summons, tell them to go ahead and send it on over. (it will never come!) tell them that you are also calling your sheriff's dept to confirm who they are and what they're claiming. ask for THEIR info- what their name is, the company name, etc. tell them also that they must take your name and numbers OFF their list b/c your business with them is handled. you will be waiting on a court summons and until then, tah-tah!! report them to your state attorney general. here is the link for the one for Texas: https://www.oag.state.tx.us/forms/cpd/form.php if i were you, i'd go ahead and call your relatives, (in-laws, friends, grandparents, parents, siblings) and tell them that someone somehow got your info and is trying to scam you into paying a bogus debt. inform them to give out NO info, telling the caller that they have no idea who "that person" is. they will eventually hit all dead ends and have to give up. when they call you, do NOT agree that the account they may speak of is in fact yours, or that you agree to begin paying on it, as this may re-start your 7 year Statute of Limitation. simply tell them you'll never give them any money until you see legal documents in your hand and you are able to confirm they are legitimate. this WILL get them angry, and they will most likely call you ugly names and threaten you, but tell them you are recording the call and DO IT. put them on speaker phone and use something to record it; a handheld recorder, your computer, something. and if you have an attorney and have the time to, pursue a lawsuit against THEM for harassment. do not be a victim here. be informed.
